Tabu, Sonali Bendre head to Jodhpur to hear the verdict in the blackbuck poaching case
Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre were clicked at the Mumbai airport earlier in the day as they headed to Jodhpur to hear the verdict in the black buck poaching case, which will be announced tomorrow (April 5). Apart from these three, the case also involves Salman Khan, who is also expected to fly to Jodhpur. The superstar was in Abu Dhabi shooting for his upcoming film, Race 3. He returned to the city last night along with his co-stars, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol and Saqib Saleem.
The blackbuck poaching case dates back to 1999 when Salman, Saif, Tabu and Sonali were shooting for their film Hum Saath Saath Hai. At that time, Salman allegedly went on a shooting tour. Saif, Sonali and Tabu allegedly accompanied him. Two black bucks were killed in Kankani area, after which a case was filed against Salman and others. The case was filed by the local Bishnoi community, who consider the blackbuck to be the reincarnation of their religious Guru, Bhagwan Jambeshwar.
Lawyers of all other parties, apart from Salman’s lawyer Hastimal Saraswat, were present in the last court hearing that took place on March 28. Final arguments from both the sides were completed in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Rural Court in Jodhpur and the verdict will be announced tomorrow. ALSO READ:
In 2007, Salman was locked in the Jodhpur jail for over a week before the court granted him bail. In 2017, Salman was acquitted in an Arms Act case linked to the blackbuck poaching case.
