Sonakshi paid a perfect tribute to Sridevi – Sonakshi Sinha pays a tribute to Sridevi by grooving on Hawa Hawai on Nach Baliye 8 stage
After a wonderfully nuanced performance as Shashi in English Vinglish, Sridevi is back to regal us with her new thriller, Mom. The lady is busy promoting it on various platforms and she went on the sets of Nach Baliye 8 to showcase the film as well. Sonakshi Sinha who is a huge fan of the Bollywood diva paid a perfect tribute by grooving on the chartbuster from Mr India, Hawa Hawai. That was not all. She also encouraged Sridevi to dance with her on the song, Kaate Nahi Katt Tey, which is a monsoon rage. That number was recreated in Sonakshi’s film Force 2 as well. In a statement to Mumbai Mirror, Sonakshi said, “When we were discussing who will perform on which song, I already had my answer down pat. It had to be “Hawa Hawai.” She also said that she dressed up as Sridevi for her fancy dress competitions in that now iconic golden gown. She further told the paper, “It is a special memory associated with my childhood, I’ve won many competitions as Miss Hawa Hawai. Sonakshi also revealed how starstruck she did be every time she met Sridevi as a child.
All the judges have performed on a number from Sridevi’s huge kitty of hit songs. While Mohit Suri danced on Chandni, dance guru Terence Lewis grooved on the peppy and iconic Taki O Taki, which was filmed on Sridevi and one of her fave co-stars, Jeetendra. For Nach Baliye, Sridevi wore a Manish Malhotra sari with a royal purple blouse. The lady looked absolutely stunning in her desi avatar. Sonakshi wore a blue coloured gown designed by Namrata Joshipura. Her bling was from Minawala Jewellers. The two looked lovely in one frame.
Mom, directed by Ravi Udyawar is a thriller featuring Akshaye Khanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Abhimanyu Singh, Sajjal Ali and other actors. The suspenseful trailer has us damn excited for the film. It is the 300th film of Sridevi’s career. Stay tuned to Bollywood Life for more scoop and updates.
