Now, here is an intriguing connection between the 1997 hit Judwaa and it’s upcoming remake/sequel. We know that Salman Khan is reprising his role from the original for a brief appearance in Judwaa 2, featurning Varun Dhawan in the lead role. There are also murmurs about Karisma Kapoor making a special appearance in the reprise version of the song Tan Tana Tan. But not many knew until now that Karisma has more role to play than that in the upcoming David Dhawan comedy.
In Judwaa 2 we have the gen-next stars playing the characters from the original. Varun will step into Salman’s shoes, and replacing the leading ladies – Karisma Kapoor and Rambha – we have Taapsee Paanu and Jacqueline Fernandez. Not much is known about their roles but we learnt an interesting bit of info about Taapsee. Her character in the film is called ‘Samaira.’ It looks like David Dhawan has carefully picked the names of the characters for the movie. Hence reminiscing Judwaa, he has named Taapsee’s character as ‘Samaira,’ which also happens to be Karisma’s daughter’s name. We are sure Taapsee is happy to be called after the actress’ daughter’s name in her upcoming movie.
Samaira was born on March 11, 2005. The 12-year old rarely makes public appearances, and is mostly only spotted with her mummy dearest. She is her mom’s biggest fashion critic, in the words of her mother herself. The actress had earlier said in an interview, “…my daughter Samaira is my biggest fashion critic. When I dress up for events, if she doesn’t like what I’m wearing, she will be like, ‘Mom, change these shoes. I really don’t like it.’ She has great fashion sense and she completely participates in everything.”
Judwaa 2 is expected to wrap up its shooting soon, and will hit the theaters in September.
