Heat wave Gizele Thakral does the iconic waterfall pose from Ram Teri Ganga Maili in Kerala
It has been more than three decades since Raj Kapoor’s Ram Teri Ganga Maili hit the screens. The 1985 socio-romance was the biggest grosser of the year. However, the film is known best for its controversial scenes involving actress Mandakini. The actress was shown bathing under a waterfall in a transparent saree. The scene showed off her assets in a manner, which made the Censor Board see red. Model and starlet Gizele Thakral has recreated the pose as part of a photo-shoot. With her wet hair flying in the breeze and a white saree wrapped around her, Gizele looks damn sensuous. However, she has not exposed as much as Mandakini did in the film. The pictures are very tastefully shot. However, what we are crushing on is the backdrop. She is posing against the famous falls of Kerala, Athirappilly Falls. It is a favourite with filmmakers from South and Bollywood. Everyone now knows it as the falls shown in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali. The iconic scene of Prabhas scaling the waterfall and the Dhivara song was shot close to it. It is called the Niagara Falls of India. It is also the backdrop for songs like Dil Se’s Jiya Jale and Guru’s Barso Re Megha.
Starlet Gizele is born to an Indian father and Keralite mom, who is of Portuguese descent. Last year, her pictures touring across South American countries like Brazil and Colombia made headlines. Gizele was born in Rajasthan and now lives in Mumbai. She was into modelling since the age of 13. She is very fond of Kerala, its scenery, food and culture. Stay tuned to BL for more scoops.
