Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy marriage vows look straight out of a wedding magazine.
Gautam Rode’s marriage with Pankhuri Awasthy gave a stunning start of the TV shaadis of the year. The couple who regaled us with their romance on Dil Diya Gallan had an equally dreamy saat pheras. The heritage property of Tijara Fort Palace, Alwar was decked for the occasion. Lit with a hundred lights, it looked amazing. The wedding festivities kicked in early last Sunday starting with Mehendi, followed by formal exchange of rings and shagan ceremony. The night was long one with a fun Sangeet with a line up of performances and a cocktail party. We saw the TV hunk looking hot in a tuxedo while Pankhuri stole our hearts in the soft pink gown, the same design worn by Katrina. Gautam Rode who’s had a reputation of being a private person had only close friends and family at the two-day extravagant affair. The wedding morning began with the haldi. It was an out and out traditional wedding with all the rituals in place.
The fort, which is at a picturesque location was lit up with lights and exotic flowers. The venue was decorated with beautiful white carnations and pink lights to compliment the flowers. For the Varmala ritual, Gautam made for a handsome groom in a white and gold sherwani by Pranav & Pawan. Pankhuri was beaming with joy in a red lehenga by the same designer with ethereal jewelry by Jaipur Jewels.
The wedding began with shera bandni ceremony by draping a traditional gold turban on Gautam’s head followed by a puja, after which the sehra was tied by Gautam’s mother and sister.
Gautam arrived in a vintage car during his baarat accompanied by his father and nephew. We had Rajasthani dancers performing during the baaraat and people showered rose petals from above on the groom. The baarat apparently continued a little more longer with Gauahar and Nigaar Khan and Saurabh Pandey dancing with the guests. All the groomsmen wore similar yellow turbans. After the kanyadaan done by Pankhuri’s parents, the couple took pheras. The wedding went on till 7 am in the morning in freezing temperatures.
Both the bride and groom were in Pawan & Pranav outfits. Gautam picked a golden sherwani with a royal green Jaipuri pearl necklace and Pankhuri made for a gorgeous bride in a light yellow lehenga by the same designer and jewelry again from Jaipur Jewels. Here are some pictures from the wedding clicked by famous wedding photographer Knotting Bells.
