In a soundtrack as layered and rich as that of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, it is not impossible to imagine that a lot of lyrics didn't make it to the final cut. As one might figure, a lot of footage didn't make it to the film, either. During the course of our conversation with the film's lyricist, Amitabh Bhattacharya we asked him if there was any stanza that didn't make it to the final song — one he wished it did. His reply was this. "Of course. Well, the title track Ae Dil Hai Mushkil itself had a stanza, which we all loved, but it could not make it to final draft for various technical reasons — duration of the song, particular situation or whatever. But I really loved it a lot and I wish it was there."
