The actress opens up about her husband’s fitness method and how he makes her the happiest
Eva Longoria has found her partner in life and fitness. The 42-year-old revealed that it is her husband Jose “Pepe” Baston, who keeps her motivated during workouts. “He loves it,” she said inside of the June issue of Health Magazine. “He’s like, ‘We gotta do it.’ And I’m like, ‘I knoooow.’ We motivate each other. My motivation is also the glass of wine at the end of the day. I’m like, ‘Eva, if you want that glass of wine, this is what we’re gonna have to do.'” Eva and Jose, who have been married since January 2016, have also inspired each other to take on a healthier approach to nutrition.
The Telenovela star, who shows off her bikini body in the magazine, noted. “My husband and I went vegan for a while, and we liked it,” she said. “It’s easy to do in big cities. L.A. is Vegan-ville. I live in Mexico City, and I was like, ‘Oh God, this is gonna be hard in Mexico—land of the tacos.’ But we’ve found great meatless, soy, and plant-based products that mimic that stuff, and it’s pure vegan.” She continued: “We’ve kind of carried it through, except we’ve added eggs back in. And every once in a while we’ll eat fish now. But we haven’t eaten red meat or chicken since January.”
Mrs. Baston revealed that her husband knows just what it takes to make their nutriton-savvy date nights count. “We had a special dinner, and our big joy is just drinking a really great bottle of wine,” she said. “He’ll be like, ‘Where do you want to eat next Christmas?’ And I’m like, ‘It’s January. I don’t know.’ But he wants it to be special. He’s from the 1940s, I think. He must have time-traveled here.” The Desperate Housewives star, who launched a jean line, also shared that her husband in the one person who makes her the “happiest.” “Hearing him breathe makes me happy,” she revealed. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, I love marriage.’ I love being married to him. He’s just—I can’t even believe we found each other. We complement each other. We’re supportive of each other. We adore each other. It’s really sickening, and anybody who’s around us is like, ‘Ugh.'”
