Elle Fanning calls Maleficent 2 co-star Angelina Jolie inspiring – Elle Fanning said, “I was 14 when I did the first movie, now I’m 20. I wasn’t as young now so Angelina and I got to relate on a different level now that I’m older.” Elle Fanning said that her “Maleficent 2” co-star Angelina Jolie is a source of inspiration. The 20-year-old actor, who reunites with Jolie in the follow-up to Disney’s 2014 dark fantasy film, said she learnt a lot from her multifaceted senior.
“She does a lot and is very inspiring to work with. To see how she handles the business and also she’s the producer so to see that side of things, to see her with her producer hat on, I learned a lot,” Fanning told People magazine.
The actor, who plays Princess Aurora in the film franchise, revealed she developed a close bond with Jolie, who essays the title role, on the sets of their latest movie.
“I was 14 when I did the first movie, now I’m 20. I wasn’t as young now so Angelina and I got to relate on a different level now that I’m older. We actually got very close on the second one. Very close. She’s amazing!” she said.
Actors Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville are also returning for the sequel and they will be joined by newcomers Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, and Robert Lindsay.
Joachim Ronning is directing the sequel with a script from Linda Woolverton and Jez Butterworth.
