Did Priyanka Chopra take a dig at US President Donald Trump in this video?
Priyanka Chopra is ruling hearts around the world. She’s busy carving a niche for herself in the Hollywood film industry, making us root for her every day. The actress who’s working round the clock to shoot the third season of her TV series, Quantico is equally inclined towards politics. She has voiced her displeasure on America’s presidency and guess she plans to continue doing it. Gracing the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Priyanka Chopra had many interesting revelations and stunning answers to give. Ask her when was the last time she cried and she will call herself a cry baby who cries all the time. Priyanka even reveals if she would like to be the next Oprah Winfrey and her answer is a yes with a twist. Not Oprah but she would like to be a Chopra – come on, now that was expected from PeeCee.
It was during the same interview with the magazine when Priyanka Chopra was asked, “Who should be the next President of the United States of America? And her reply was, ‘Anybody will do at this point. And I don’t even need to explain why.” Well, if we’re good at reading between the lines here, it was definitely a dig at USA’s current President, Donald Trump. She isn’t happy with his administration and she shares her view with majority of Americans out there.
For the ones who are her fans or follow her closely would know, this wasn’t the first time when she voiced her opinion on the Presidency. Earlier too we have heard her making statements against him. The Bajirao Mastani actress had earlier raised her concerns on Trump’s temporary immigration ban. She had said, “This has deeply affected me.
Trump had signed the executive order to suspend entry of refugees to the US for 120 days, and imposed an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria. A 90-day ban was also placed on citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries, including Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Post Trump’s decision, Priyanka in an emotional LinkedIn blog post wrote, “As a global citizen, this has deeply affected me. All of the ‘banned’ countries are places where a lot of UNICEF work is going on, where children are suffering the most.” For someone like Priyanka who has always voiced her opinion against the President of her ‘second home’, the new statement doesn’t really surprise us. It was always expected.
