Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor royal romance will leave you mesmerised watch video.
The buzz around Padmaavat refuses to die down. Right when we thought fans might have moved on to other movies, the makers released a song from the film. This one titled Holi has been very crafty released to coincide the festival. This song comes at a very important juncture in the film, and so far it was only the audio version was available. Releasing the music video on Holi is a masterstroke in marketing. The song features Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, playing Rani Padmavati and Raja Rawal Singh respectively, as they give us a glimpse of the two characters’ royal romance. The number has been crooned by Richa Sharma and Shail Hada gorgeously. Of course we all know that the melody has been composed by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself.
The Holi number is unlike anything many of us have ever heard. In the times when we enjoy Balam Pichkari, this song has a very Madhuban Me Jo Kanhaiya vibe to it. The description makes it clear that this is a Manganiyars and Langa’s folk song. The number is very well adapted with added instrumental magic.
The video is visually appealing and has been pictured perfectly to capture the beauty of Deepika and the sets of the royal rooms. Also, Shahid is looking handsome with extra points to his designer kurta. The two actor’s chemistry is at its best display in this song. They also almost share a kiss, which was quite a risk given the controversies around the film.
The film has given the featured actors a lot of firsts. It is Shahid Kapoor’s first Rs 100 crore film, Ranveer Singh’s first Rs 200 crore film and Deepika Padukone’s biggest hit ever. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, too, got his biggest hit with the film. In fact, it is on its way to become the next Rs 300 crore film, after Tiger Zinda Hai. That’s amazing for the industry because within days it managed yet another blockbuster.
