“Break up, for what?” asks Sidharth Malhotra when questioned about rumours of splitting with Alia Bhatt –
On August 15, reports surfaced that Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra have taken the road to splitsville. Of course fans of the B-Town’s favourite couple had a hard time digesting the news. But now they can take a sigh of relief as Sid has hinted that his relationship with Alia is still intact.
“Me and Alia break-up? For what? We broke some tables and chairs? Aap toh kuch bhi likh sakte hai, there’s no point saying anything,” Sid said when he was asked to comment on the rumoured break up at the launch of the song Bandook Meri Laila from A Gentleman. A news daily had reported that there was friction between the couple, and they were “not on talking terms anymore”. But seems like all is well in the kingdom. Or is it Sid’s way of avoiding the conversation?
This was not the only rumour that was refuted by the pair. Recently, it was reported that Alia is unwilling to star in Aashqui 3 with Sid. As the rumour started gaining momentum, and before things snowballed, Alia took to Twitter and clarified: “Aashiqui is a very special brand & working with my father for the first time is equally special! All things take their time. This will too.” But, a news daily reported that Alia made this clarification after a heated argument with Sid, in which he accused his girlfriend of sidelining Aashiqui 3 to star in other projects.
Alia will be next seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, alongside Vicky Kaushal. Since the movie is based in Kashmir, a huge set has been built in Mumbai to shoot, as the valley is currently fighting with violence.
And Sidharth’s A Genlteman opens in theaters on September 25, and also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Darshan Kumaar, Suniel Shetty.
