Since the time the news of involvement of various top Tollywood artistes in drug racket has broken, almost whole of Telugu film industry has been under the scanner. And the latest name to that a Special Investigation Team is on the lookout for is Bigg Boss Telugu contestant, Mumaith Khan. According to a report by The New Indian Express, the SIT could not locate Mumaith Khan when they served notices to several celebrities on July 12 and 13. However, later they learnt that she is currently a contestant on Bigg Boss Telugu and is living in Bigg Boss house located in Lonavala, Maharashtra. She’ll be housed until her eviction, so the team is considering sending a legal notice to her on the sets of the popular reality show.

For the uninitiated, it all started when Calvin Fernandes, a major drug lord of Hyderabad was arrested by the Telangana excise department. His brought Tollywood in the limelight because he had confessed that a large part of his clientele are actors from the industry. He had revealed that these stars purchase drugs from him.

The Telangana Excise (Enforcement) Department has sent a sent legal notices to top Tollywood artists that include actors, actresses and singers regarding the drug racket case. What has shocked Tollywood is the mention of top stars like Puri Jagannadh and Ravi Teja, Charmme Kaur, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu, art director Chinna N Dharmarao, P Subbaraju, P Navdeep, Tarun Kumar, A Tanish, as per reports on Indian Express. Ravi Teja’s mention has specially shocked the industry considering it was his brother who was allegedly into drugs. Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur and Ravi Teja have reportedly denied their involvement in the racket.

All those who have been called out for their alleged involvement in this drug racket have denied it. Only recently Puri Jagannadh’s daughter came out in defense of her father. And now, Ravi Teja‘s mother has come in support of her son. While speaking with a Telugu news channel, the mother has stated that Ravi Teja didn’t even smoke so there would be no chance of the actor consuming drugs. As it is, she mentioned the family was going through a tough phase in their life as they recently lost Ravi’s brother. Despite that, Ravi had been continuously shooting to make sure, nobody involved in the film was at loss.
