Bhumika Chawla comes on board Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s U-Turn remake to play a ghost
Before Samantha took off for a short break recently, she had been juggling multiple shoots. One among the many projects was the much talked about – U-turn remake. The Kannada film that became a huge blockbuster is being remade in Tamil and Telugu. Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been roped in to play the female lead. The film will be directed by Pawan Kumar who also helmed the original. As per the latest update, Bhumika Chawla will be coming aboard this remake. She will be playing the ghost who is known to have died due to a tragic accident. Her role is crucial and is the reason, Samantha’s character decides to investigate the strange accidents on the highway. She will be part of the Tamil and the Telugu remake.
Rahul Ravindran will play Samantha’s love interest while Aadhi is set to take on the cop’s role. As of now, the title of the remake hasn’t been announced. Have the makers decided to retain the original title? We will know soon. Interestingly, Bhumika Chawla will also be working with Samantha’s better half – Naga Chaitanya in Savyasachi. Reports suggest she will play his sister. The movie also stars R Madhavan. Bhumika Chawla made her comeback in films with MCA starring Nani and Sai Pallavi. She played Nani’s sister-in-law.
U-turn was one of the biggest hits in Kannada in 2016. The film is about a journalist who decides to probe into the case of the strange accidents that are taking place on a certain highway after a U-turn. What she ends up discovering is something nobody expected. The film has already been remade in Malayalam as Careful.
